On Strong Convergence of Halpern’s Method for Quasi-Nonexpansive Mappings in Hilbert Spaces

2016

In this paper, we introduce a Halpern’s type method to approximate common fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping T and a strongly quasi-nonexpansive mappings S, defined in a Hilbert space, such that I − S is demiclosed at 0. The result shows as the same algorithm converges to different points, depending on the assumptions of the coefficients. Moreover, a numerical example of our iterative scheme is given.

Some integral type fixed point theorems in Non-Archimedean Menger PM-Spaces with common property (E.A) and application of functional equations in dyn…

2013

In this paper, we prove some integral type common fixed point theorems for weakly compatible mappings in Non-Archimedean Menger PM-spaces employing common property (E.A). Some examples are furnished which demonstrate the validity of our results. We extend our main result to four finite families of self-mappings employing the notion of pairwise commuting. Moreover, we give an application which supports the usability of our main theorem.

A Unifying Approach to Weyl Type Theorems for Banach Space Operators

2013

Weyl type theorems have been proved for a considerably large number of classes of operators. In this paper, by introducing the class of quasi totally hereditarily normaloid operators, we obtain a theoretical and general framework from which Weyl type theorems may be promptly established for many of these classes of operators. This framework also entails Weyl type theorems for perturbations f(T + K), where K is algebraic and commutes with T, and f is an analytic function, defined on an open neighborhood of the spectrum of T + K, such that f is non constant on each of the components of its domain.

Fixed points for multivalued mappings in b-metric spaces

2015

In 2012, Samet et al. introduced the notion ofα-ψ-contractive mapping and gave sufficient conditions for the existence of fixed points for this class of mappings. The purpose of our paper is to study the existence of fixed points for multivalued mappings, under anα-ψ-contractive condition of Ćirić type, in the setting of completeb-metric spaces. An application to integral equation is given.

Analytic Extension of Non Quasi - Analytic Whitney Jets of Beurling Type

1998

Let (Mr)r∈ℕ0 be a logarithmically convex sequence of positive numbers which verifies M0 = 1 as well as Mr ≥ 1 for every r ∈ ℕ and defines a non quasi - analytic class. Let moreover F be a closed proper subset of ℝn. Then for every function f on ℝn belonging to the non quasi - analytic (Mr)-class of Beurling type, there is an element g of the same class which is analytic on ℝ,nF and such that Dαf(x) = Dαg(x) for every α ∈ ℕn0 and x ∈ F.

On the type of partial t-spreads in finite projective spaces

1985

AbstractA partial t-spread in a projective space P is a set of mutually skew t-dimensional subspaces of P. In this paper, we deal with the question, how many elements of a partial spread L can be contained in a given d-dimensional subspace of P. Our main results run as follows. If any d-dimensional subspace of P contains at least one element of L, then the dimension of P has the upper bound d−1+(d/t). The same conclusion holds, if no d-dimensional subspace contains precisely one element of L. If any d-dimensional subspace has the same number m>0 of elements of L, then L is necessarily a total t-spread. Finally, the ‘type’ of the so-called geometric t-spreads is determined explicitely.

Kernel theorems in the setting of mixed nonquasi-analytic classes

2008

Abstract Let Ω 1 ⊂ R r and Ω 2 ⊂ R s be nonempty and open. We introduce the Beurling–Roumieu spaces D ( ω 1 , ω 2 } ( Ω 1 × Ω 2 ) , D ( M , M ′ } ( Ω 1 × Ω 2 ) and obtain tensor product representations of them. This leads for instance to kernel theorems of the following type: every continuous linear map from the Beurling space D ( ω 1 ) ( Ω 1 ) (respectively D ( M ) ( Ω 1 ) ) into the strong dual of the Roumieu space D { ω 2 } ( Ω 2 ) (respectively D { M ′ } ( Ω 2 ) ) can be represented by a continuous linear functional on D ( ω 1 , ω 2 } ( Ω 1 × Ω 2 ) (respectively D ( M , M ′ } ( Ω 1 × Ω 2 ) ).

A matrix of combinatorial numbers related to the symmetric groups

1979

For permutation groups G of finite degree we define numbers t"B(G)=|G|^-^[email protected]?"R"@?"[email protected]?"1(1a"1(g))^b^"^i, where B=(b"1,...,b"1) is a tuple of non-negative integers and a"1(g) denotes the number of i cycles in the element g. We show that t"B(G) is the number of orbits of G, acting on a set @D"B(G) of tuples of matrices. In the case G=S"n we get a natural interpretation for combinatorial numbers connected with the Stiring numbers of the second kind.

Lower space bounds for randomized computation

1994

It is a fundamental problem in the randomized computation how to separate different randomized time or randomized space classes (c.f., e.g., [KV87, KV88]). We have separated randomized space classes below log n in [FK94]. Now we have succeeded to separate small randomized time classes for multi-tape 2-way Turing machines. Surprisingly, these “small” bounds are of type n+f(n) with f(n) not exceeding linear functions. This new approach to “sublinear” time complexity is a natural counterpart to sublinear space complexity. The latter was introduced by considering the input tape and the work tape as separate devices and distinguishing between the space used for processing information and the spa…

Stancu–Schurer–Kantorovich operators based on q-integers

2015

The goal of this paper is to introduce and study q analogue of Stancu-Schurer-Kantorovich operators. A convergence theorem using the well known Bohman-Korovkin criterion is proven and the rate of convergence involving the modulus of continuity is established. The estimate of the rate of convergence by means of the Lipshitz function is considered. Furthermore, we obtained a Voronovskaja type result for these operators. Also, we investigate the statistical approximation properties of these operators using Korovkin type statistical approximation theorem.
